
Community Junction is a combination of transport, community, voluntary and charitable
organisations all housed under one roof. It brings back into use a beautiful grade
2 listed building -
Alongside TravelExtra, tenants signed up so far include Hull City Council Passenger
Transport, Victim Support Humber, Hull and East Riding Institute for the Blind (HERIB)
and The Enterprise Partnership. One office is available for daily hire as a meeting
or interview room -
The project is the first of its kind on a railway station in the UK and has been supported by train operator First TransPennine Express and Network Rail with funding from Yorkshire Forward, Hull City Council, Business Link, Railway Heritage Trust, and the Acorn Trust.
TravelExtra provides improved access to travel, leisure and shopping for people with disabilities, including mobility vehicle hire and advice on travel within the city and beyond. TravelExtra Mobility is for anyone, young or old, whether their disability is temporary or permanent. The city centre location is easily reached by bus, train, car, taxi or on foot. There’s no need to make a special journey – just pop in while you’re in town, for advice, help and information.
TravelExtra is open between 10am to 4pm Monday to Saturday to help anyone with mobility issues find the freedom to get around Hull City Centre, its shops and attractions. TravelExtra also offers advice on public transport journey planning for disabled people.
